Project Description:
This project is located on a 10 acre site, bounded by groves of indigenous birch trees and residential streets, and included the design and construction of: a 3 story New Embassy Office Building (NOB) and perimeter wall; 3 Compound Access Control Buildings (CACs); Marine Security Guard Quarters (MSGQ); Utility Building; and GSO Support Annex (total Building Area 11,415 gsm).
The New Embassy Office Building consists of two rectangular wings connected by a two story gallery that serves as representational space for ceremonies and exhibitions. Large expanses of glazing, with interior light shelves, punctuate the contrasting warm and cool tone limestone exterior cladding of the building. Interior finishes include limestone floor and base with perforated wood paneling on the walls and wood slatted paneling on the ceiling. The interior and exterior finishes are continued and referenced throughout each building on the campus.
